Course Description:
Introduces the participant to Lock Out/Tag Out. Course explains the basics of LOTO and its use as a prevention strategy for many hazards. Content focuses on LOTO as a “Best Practice” and describes the basic steps to follow for LOTO; minimal equipment; when and how LOTO should be used; and the regulatory (OSHA) guidelines for LOTO program. For use when audience is unfamiliar with LOTO. This mini-module is available for use in most curriculum modules and can be “hidden” during a presentation if the audience is familiar with LOTO.
General Goals:
- Participants will be able to describe what Lock Out Tag Out means.
- Participants will be able to identify basic equipment needed for LOTO.
- Participants will be able to describe when and how LOTO should be used and the basic elements of a LOTO program.
- Participants will be able to implement basic LOTO programs at their workplace.
